Hello, and thanks for visiting my
web site. I am Cheryl Dow, an artist, author and teacher who lives
in West Bloomfield, Michigan, U.S.A.
With me are my husband David and a 3 - foot macaw named Ali Baba, also
whatever animals happen to have dropped in ( and there have been plenty
). For over 35 years I have been a wildlife advisor and rehabilitor,
caring for infant and injured animals. At one time or another: raptors,
ducks, geese, song birds, swans, raccoons, possums, cougars, squirrels,
bears, have been under my care.
I have been a photographic artist
and negative retoucher, for 35 years and a wood burner for over 10
years. Putting these talents together in wildlife pyrography and
teaching others this fascinating art has become a great joy in my life.
Thanks to all of my carving and burning friends for all their
encouragement, helpful criticism, assistance and advice. Thanks to all
my students for teaching me how to teach and putting up with me in the
process.
